E-mini Russell 2000 + InteractiveBrokers + NT7

I have to follow the market: E-mini Russell 2000 futures.
I remember it was listed on CME (GLOBEX) with symbol: ER2.

Unfortunately I do not find. Someone (who uses IB with NT) can you help me?

Thanks for your post.

For NinjaTrader with Interactive Brokers TF is currently the master symbol for E-mini Russell 2000 futures.

To open a new chart with to E-mini Russell 2000 futures go to File> New> Chart

Type TF 03-12 for the instrument and select New
Select OK to generate a new chart for the E-mini Russell 2000 futures.

You are correct that the symbol used to be ER2 but for all connections at this time it has almost been completely phased out.

The following would be the correct instrument.
Description: Mini Russell 2000
Name: TF
Exchange: Nybot

TF on ICE

Is the current IB code in instrument editor still correct ast TFIII100?

I am still not getting data through and thought perhaps the IB code for TF as changed.

I am not aware of any changes. Do you have the Nybot exchange enabled for the TF in the Definition-tab?

When I test the TF 03-15 on my end, I receive realtime data when connected to the IB demo connection. Do you receive realtime data for the TF in TWS?

Thx for quick reply. I have TF set up with both NYBOT and ICE.... have just checked with IB for their end and it seems that my account is enabled to see the data.... TF 03-15 simply doesnt show... is strange. I see the data on TWS. I use gateway to trade. Regards

Can you please disable the Ice exchange in the Definition-tab and click OK. Remove and re-add the TF 03-15 to your instrument list. Instructions can be found at the link below.

Click OK in the Instrument Manager. Check if you now receive data for the TF 03-15 if you select it in the Control Center-->Orders-tab.

Just done as instructed. No data. Do you use the TFIII100 code for the broker connection for IB?

Yes, I use TF|||100 as symbol map.

Can you please check what TWS version you have installed. You can check this at Help-->About TradersWorkStation. Could it be you have a different version than 944.3? If so, please install version 944.3. You can download and install TWS 944.3 from the following link.

Did you perhaps manually created an additional TF instrument in the Instrument Manager besides the TF instrument that is present by default?

Yes I created a TF ##-## contract for my long term historical data...

This should not cause any issue. I assume you have only one TF instrument present in the 'Available master instruments' section of the Instrument Manager. If not, please remove any duplicate ones.

Do you see any error messages in the Control Center-->Log-tab when you select the TF 03-15 in NinjaTrader?

Are you able to receive data if you connect to IB in NinjaTrader via TWS instead of Gateway?

no log messages - will check if it receives from TWS. Wont help much because I always will use the Gateway connection. I have four other futures that feed fine to the DOM via the gateway... I just cannot understand why TF is not working as yet..

Just checked when connecting to TWS... data doesnt come through. Even though you see it updating on TWS..


JUST SOLVED THE PROBLEM.... Just had to close NT and reopen it. Its the simple things sometimes! Thx very much for the support. Regards
