    Hello,

This is occurring because CL 04-12 is not scheduled to roll over until next week.

If you wish to roll over to the Cl 04-12 now, you will need to change the roll over date for this contract.

You can do this by going to Tools--> Instrument Manager--> locate the CL instrument and select 'Edit'.

From the Instrument Editor, click on the Misc tab--> scroll down the the "Contract Months" section.

Click here for more information on Understanding the Misc tab > Contract Months

You will want to edit the 04-12 roll over date to 02/17/2012 and then hit ok.

Once you have made this change, you can right click on your CL 04-12 instrument and select 'reload all historical data'.

Please let me know if you need further assistance.

Matthew...so does that mean for those of us who like to roll "early" based on volume of contracts traded between the current month and the front month that we will need to do this every month at our "pre"-rollover time?

        Thanks!

Yes, you would need to change the date if you wish to roll over before schedule. We have no way of predicting when volume will change between contracts, but do try to get this schedule as close as the CME specifications and market consensus as possible.
