Market Reply - Kinetick vs Zen-fire

    Hi,

I'm trying to download data for use in Market Reply.
I don't have any problem doing this with the free end of day Kinetick data.
However I'd like to download larger chunks of data at a time, rather than just one day at a time.

My data provider is zen fire, I can download historical data and see it in the Historical Data Manager, no problem. But when I switch to Market Replay connection, select "Go to", the zen fire data is not there, but any Kinetick data is there.

Maybe I'm missing something but for the life of me can't work it out !

    Best regards.

Ashtree gambler, I'm not exactly sure I follow : Market Replay data is different than Historical Chart Data, which would be seen under your Historical Data Manager. You could not run a Market Replay from this source, you would need to use the dedicated Market Replay data download option via File > Utilities > Download Market Replay data, or another way : record it on your end by enabling the recorder under Tools > Options > Data.

When using the download though it would be only available for every individual day.

      Thanks for the swift response.

Ah, my mistake then, I thought the historical data would be able to be used in Market Replay.

Looks like I've got over 250 individual downloads to perform !

      Thanks.

You're welcome, for tracking such a large # of symbols it might be easier to setup a dedicated machine that would just record the data as it's received.

          Bertrand,

I'm only interested in one or two symbols at the moment but would like to have about a year's worth of data to test a strategy on. Unfortunately part of the strategy has to be COBC - False which, according to the NT recommended programmer who wrote it, means I can't use backtest or the optimizer. The closest I have is Market Replay.

Unless you know of a more efficient way of tackling this ?

          Thanks.

Ok, thanks for clarifying here - yes then the download option is your best choice still to test this strategy with COBC = false.
