"Flatten Everything" button in NT is very dangerous
when we hit the "flatten everything" button in NT we "should" get another confirmation box popping up and when we hit "ok" then all positions are closed. Reason being is that the "flatten everything" button is right next to the "Disconnect" button and we hit the "disconnect" button everyday and if we accidently hit the wrong button (due to the "fat finger" problem, or by mistake) we could unwantedly flatten all our positions. Accordingly, the flatten everything button has a dangerous design. If we flattened all our positions and our positions were very big, like for a CTA, we would get massive slippage and market impact costs involved which would cost us a lot of money. NT should have a setting in NT "options" tab that says "Confirm flatten everything" just like we have for placing orders. The way it is at the moment is a crazy and unsafe design, especially for CTA's who have large orders open across many different markets. Could you please pass this request onto NT development / QA team as this "flatten everything" button is extremely dangerous!!!Last edited by Rocket130713; 03-21-2012, 05:16 AM.Tags: None

... but don't make confirmation a requirement
Matthew,
I understand and respect the need for confirmation for SOME people, but please do NOT make confirmation a REQUIREMENT. There are some of us who don't have the same need as the CTA, and want FlattenEverything to be as fast as possible.
