ogin failled: Timout on waiting for TWS

I'm having problems linking NT with Interactive Brokers.
The following message appear: Login failled: timout on waiting for TWS.

Here are the parameters of TWS:

- Version: Build 924.2e,
- API - Setting:
- Enable ActiveX and Socket Clients = true
- Send status updates for EFP and Volatility orders with "continuous update" flag socket port = 4001


Here are the parameters of NT 7:

- Version: 2.0.50727.3623
- Host = 127.0.0.1 / 4001
- Client ID / Log level = 0 / Error
- Trigger after hours / Auto logon / Currencies = True / False / True
- SSL = false
- Local = False OCA Simulation
- Use user settings = True
- Reguire market order date for submission = false


Can you help me find a solution?

Please install TWS 921. Unfortunately we do not support TWS 924. You can download it from our IB connection guide below. Please follow the step by step instructions and you should be able to connect successful.

Hello Jason,
Unfortunately after I have uninstall the version 924 and installed the 921 I can't connect NT with TWS. NT try to connect 3 times and in the and the error message Time out appear.

What can I do?

Are you using the 7.0.1000.9 release of NinjaTrader? If you're not sure, please check the Help > About menu.

I have upgrade NT to the newest version 7.0.1000.9 but the same problem is still there: NT can't to connect NT, it try 3 time and at the end this error appear:

Login filled: Timeout on waiting for TWS (LoginFailed)


What can I do?

Hello Michele,

Please launch TWS and go to Edit > Global Configuration. Then enable the following options;

Enable ActiveX and Socket Clients
Download open orders on connection
Include FX positions when sending portfolio
Send status updates…
Set the "Socket port" value to 7496

As you can see in the image all parameters are right, despite what NT cannot connect to TWS.
Can you tell me what can I do?
