    Unable to update or restore NinjaTrader - Please help, urgent...

    Hello NinjaTrader Support,

    I tried to update my NinjaTrader from 64Bit version 7.0.1000.7 to the latest version 64Bit 7.0.1000.9


    - Went to http://www.ninjatrader.com/download-registration
    - typed in my License Key, downloaded the setup.exe
    - went thru' the installation steps

    but in the final step I got a message that it is not compiling and the
    pervious version will be restored; but nothing happened.


    by the way, I am not sure if the downloaded and installed Setup.exe is 32Bit or 64Bit (
    I wish there were two specific downloads for 32Bit or 64Bit)


    Later, I re-started my computer, then clicked NinjaTrader but still nothing is happening...

    I tried to reinstall again but I am getting the following error,

    A network error occurred while attempting to read from the file:
    C:\Users\ADMINI...\AppData\Local\Temp\2\tmp4144.tm p

    ---------


    I tried to restore from back-up (2012-04-08.ntbk) but nothing was happening there too; however, after few hours, I was able to get the
    back-up working


    Then I re-started NinjaTrader, but now unable to get it re-started again as none of the shortcuts are working so no way to re-start


    So I tried again to run set-up but I am getting the following error, please see attached

    A network error occurred while attempting to read from the file:
    C:\Users\ADMINI...\AppData\Local\Temp\2\tmp4144.tm p

    I tried to run the back-up (2012-04-08.ntbk) but this time this is giving the same above mentioned error

    Please help, I do not want to lose another trading day on Monday due to NinjaTrader problems

    Joy,

    I just emailed you I believe. I will send you a direct installer link, this should remedy the network issue. Also please check that you are able to upgrade to NT 7.0.1000.9 after using it.

        Hi Adam,

        It would be very helpful if I can get the direct installer link for 7.0.1000.9 (64Bit) enabling me to go ahead and re-install NinjaTrader and hopefully it would work.

        Also, I need to check if there is any indicator, templates or charts that need to be re-installed or re-done, etc

        ... so I can be ready by the time US futures market open.

          Joy,

          Nothing needs to be backed up when you do an upgrade or install. All your settings are stored in My Documents / NinjaTrader 7 and this directory is untouched by the install process.

          I have sent you the direct installer link to your email.

            Hello Adam,

            Many thanks for the direct installer link for 7.0.1000.9 (64Bit), using the link you provided I downloaded NinjaTrader.Install.msi and double clicked...

            - it gave me two options to "remove" or "repair"
            - I choose remove and it removed it within few seconds

            I then again double clicked the downloaded NinjaTrader.Install.msi and it made a fresh installation within seconds.

            This fresh installation also provided me with a new NinjaTrader 7 (64Bit) shortcut on the desktop

            I clicked this new shortcut and NinjaTrader 7 started without any problem... on first look I don't seem to have lost anything... though I need to check more thoroughly.

            I now re-started NinjaTrader and again no problem, everything seems fine.

            Yes, I can confirm that this installation is the latest version 7.0.1000.9 (64Bit).
