    VPS Rig - Multiple Connections?

I have recently set up a VPS (Virtual Private Server) for Live trading to protect my stop and OCO orders. Ninja / AMP still keeps such orders on the PC, I believe.

The only drawback to the server is that I can only access the Remote Desktop on one
screen. I use several charts, so this is a pain.

Is it possible to have to two Versions of NT open and connected to the same trading account? One on the VPS and one at home, with me on the PC, to open up more charts on
more screens? The orders will only be entered on the VPS version of NT remotely.

    I hope this is clear....

    thanks, guys

I edited up the post a bit to, hopefully, make it a bit more clear.

What is your server's operating system and what version of remote desktop are you using ?
What is your client (at home) operating system ?

VPS OS = Windows Server 2008 R2 Datacenter

        Remote Desktop = Version 2.1.1

        Home OS = XP

        Thanks, for getting me going

Well the easiest is to get windows 7 pro on your client. That would support up to 10 monitors on the remote desktop.

Or you can have ninja with a sim license on your xp on one monitor, and have the other one showing the server. But then you would need to have two data connections and most brokers do not like that.

I think tderrick tried one of my VPS, I forgot if I sent the answer, but you can use multiple monitors with Windows XP, with some limitations:
            "
            Monitor spanning

Remote Desktop Connection supports high-resolution displays that can be spanned across multiple monitors. However, the total resolution on all monitors must be under 4096 x 2048 pixels. The monitors must have the same resolution. Additionally, the monitors must be aligned side-by-side.
            "
            Check http://support.microsoft.com/kb/925876 .

You can also do better than this, in modifying your RDP file, which describe your connection, for example this one which just lets you take SOME of your monitors and put them to rdp session in a window, which spans monitors:
            screen mode id:i:1
            use multimon:i:0

              Hi,

              I'm investigating running NT7 on Windows Server 2008 R2.

Is this something you are doing?

If so, is it working acceptably for you?

              Any insurmountable issues or problems?

              Many thanks!

Yes, this is what most my customers are doing, and it works fine.
