    SMA Greater than Close

    Good Evening All,

Basic question, however I am new to NT. Using the Market Analyzer how would I filter out rows in which an indicator I selected was greater or less than the close price?

ie. SMA is less than the close --> Do not display the row.

Thank you in advance for any direction, I appreciate it.

    Best,

    Hello Art,

You will want to set up a filter condition for the SMA on the Market Analyzer window.

You can do this by right clicking on the Market Analyzer window, selecting the SMA indicator, selecting Filter conditions and clicking the '...' button. Then in the Filter Conditions window click New, set Condition to 'is less than', set value to the value you are wanting to filter out, press OK and OK.

Below is a link to the Filter Conditions section of our help guide.

      Hi Chris,

Thanks for your response. I understand how to set a filter based on a static number, 30 in the example provided with your link. I am looking to filter when the close price, a colum I am using in the Market Analyzer is lower than the SMA indicator value in a different column.

Will the Market Analyzer filter off of the value in another column? If not, is there a workaround?

      Thanks,

      Art

        Hello Art,

An alert like this would require custom programming.

          Hi,

When you say custom programming, are you describing logic I would type into the box [...], or is it coding that would need to be done on NT's backend? If neither, where would I execute the code that would accomplish what I describe above?

          Thanks,

          Art

            Hello,

You would have to create an indicator which compares the SMA to the close price and returns a value when the condition is true.

You would need to add this indicator to the indicator column on the market analyzer and setup the conditional filter based on the information that the indicator is calculating
