    Disconnect With Open Position & Reconnect - Continue Automated Strategy?

    Hello,

    If I have an automated strategy running for U.S. stocks, and I have a position open that holds the stock over the weekend. If I happen to disconnect from NT and restart my computer, and then reconnect prior to the open on Monday, does the automated strategy still operate on that particular stock?

    I have had several issues where a position was not closed when it should have been (I had to do it manually). I think this is b/c I have disconnected at some point while the position is open.

    Please advise.

    NinjaTrader has several options for syncing your account and restarting the strategy depending on how you would like this to behave.

      Ok, great. So if I am understanding this correctly, I want this option:
      Immediately submit live working historical orders, Sync account position = true

      Is this correct? Right now I had Wait until flat...

        If you want your strategy to run based off your account position, you'd want to use Immediately submit live working historical orders, Sync account position = false

        If you were to use Sync account position = true it may cancel positions on your live account.

          Matthew,

          I keep trying to turn on "Immediately submit live working orders" but it keeps going back to "Wait until flat"... Any idea why this is happening and how I can fix it?

          I've tried several times where I change it, save the workspace, then when I have to restart NT it comes back as "Wait until flat"...

            Can you please clarify if you are running any security software or anti-virus applications that may be conflicting with your user directory? Any hard drive utilities like automatic defrag or back up software that could have been running at that time? If so, can you please tell me the names of these programs?

              All that I'm aware that I have running is AVG Antivirus.

                AVG's resident shield as been known from preventing settings from being applied.

                You will need to create a scanning exclusion in AVG's resident shield. I'm including an AVG FAQ article on how to do this:



                The folder you wish to exclude is (My) Documents\NinjaTrader 7
