    GC 12-12 not plotting any historical data on Tick or Minute charts

    Can you please advise why GC 12-12 does not plot any historical data?

    Hello Pedro,

    Thank you for your post.


    This behavior is due to an incorrect roll-over date defined within NinjaTrader's instrument manager. This is an error we'll be correcting in our next release however you can use the following steps to correct the issue now:
    Open the Instrument Manager by clicking Tools > Instrument Manager.
    In the Manager, select GC from the list on the right then click Edit to open the Instrument Editor.
    In the Editor, navigate to the Misc tab and scroll down to the Contract Months section - select that property then click the '...' button which appears.
    In the Contract Months menu, select 12-12 and change the rollover date to 7/30.
    Click OK to exit the Contract Months menu.
    Click OK to exit the Instrument Editor.
    Click OK to exit the Instrument Manager.
    Restart NinjaTrader.

    After restarting you should see GC charts load normally.

        GC Historical data

        Hi Kyle,

        I have tried this many times and I cannot get this to work...
        The GC historical data isn't loading correctly.
        Does this have something to do with the version of Ninja I'm
        using 7.0.1000.7

          Hello Bruce,

          Yes, can you please upgrade to our latest version and check again. You can download and install the latest version from the link below on top of your current version. Make sure NinjaTrader is closed when you install the new version.


          Subsequently check if the GC 12-12 expiry still uses the rollover date of 7/30/2012. Create a new GC 12-12 chart and check if data is loaded as expected.

            I just upgraded to the latest version .10 But still have the same issue.

            Difficult to know what the expirey date is..Other traders at TI using 31/7 and seems to be ok.
            I have tried different expirey days and restarted but still same problem.

              Hello Bruce,

              Can you please shut down NinjaTrader and delete the following folder:

              C:\-->Users-->*Windows user account*-->Documents-->NinjaTrader 7-->db-->cache

              Start NinjaTrader and make sure the GC 12-12 expiry uses the 7/30/2012 rollover date.

              Create a new chart and check if data is loaded is loaded as expected.

                Jason,

                Tried all that and still the same..

                1 thing I'll clarify is the cache location..
                C:\Documents and Settings\User\My Documents\NinjaTrader 7\db\cache
                Do I delete the cache folder or the folder contents?

                Also I've noticed that when I first restart Ninja the GC charts are the only charts that I have to right click and manually reload historical data all other charts are of from start up.

                  It should work - it works for all others. Could you please post a screenshot of the chart that shows the issue.

                  Did you check if the rollover date for the 12-12 expiry is still set to 7/30/2012?
