    Chart objects erased

    DUDE
I am on the demo version of NT.
It erases chart objects after saving the workspace or changing the
    timeline of market replay.
    Fugging so annoying.

How many people have complained about this and
    its still not fixed?

Administrators of this forum: How do you retain your chart objects?
I am thinking of switching to a different platform because of the slowness
    and this problem alone.

    Hello,

The chart objects will be removed if you rewind market replay.

However these objects should be saved in the workspace. If they are not being saved, please send me your log and trace files for today so that I may look into what occurred.

You can do this by going to the Control Center-> Help-> Mail to Support.

Please add "Attn Matthew" and a reference to this thread.

I look forward to assisting you further.

      Something to try....

Here's how to get previously placed chart objects to show again after rewind in replay...after you rewind to a new start point, but before starting replay data again...load the chart template for the chart...then start replay data again...you will then see your chart objects appear again as the chart develops....or alternately before starting replay after a rewind type in a redo of the data series for the chart, then start replay data again...that should work also...

      Thanks.......

Just use your standard chart template for the chart (after rewind) that was perhaps set up before you even got into replay....or just type in the data series again for the chart after rewind....

          .....

              Hello,

What instrument and expiry did you originally load the chart objects on? Is your workspace still using the same instrument or did you roll over the contracts?

Do you have a backup of the workspace?

ES, 240 min. Sorry, I not very well understood your second question.

                Off cause, I have backup.

The objects are tied into the individual contract months. So for example if you drew these objects on the ES 06-12, but then rolled the charts to the ES 09-12, the objects would not be retained.

                    Thank you.

No, I several month worked in one chart and never not rolled.

But why the objects would not be retained if rolled the charts? I now I have done next: create chart- draw one object- save workspace- Data series, visual, label: change "ES 06-12" on "ES 09-12"- my objects is retain (or I rolled wrong?).

                      Hello,

You have to change the data series itself.

Please follow the instructions below to rollover the expiration date of a futures contracts.

From within the NinjaTrader Control Center window select the menu Tools > Instrument Manager, you can add both the ES 09-12, and ES 06-12 to your default instrument list.

You will then have both contracts listed from the Drop Down menu on the chart where you can select either data series.

                        Correction...

Need to make a correction in methods here...typing the charts same data series after a rewind does not work to get previous chart objects to show when replay data is started....however if you load the charts template after a rewind (& before replay data is started)....that technique will work OK to show previous graphic chart objects when replay data is started....

                        Thanks....

One more (final ?) caveat....if one changes the data series from say 5 tick to 6 tick to reload data after a rewind and then start replay data, then graphic objects will display OK with this method....
