IB and eurusd

    IB and eurusd

    I have charted $EURUSD for 3 years now and all of a sudden i get an error on reloading data.
    No Security Definition in IB.

    The symbol I am using for IB is EUR.USD which is correct.

    Can you assist?

    Hello Mindset,

    Thanks for your post.

    Are you using the current 7.0.1000.10 release of NinjaTrader along with the 927.7 build of Trader Worksatation?

    You can check your NinjaTrader version by clicking Help > About and your TWS build by clicking Help > About Trader Workstation.

    If you are not using these releases of NinjaTrader/TWS they are available here:


    If you are using these releases, I'd like you to disconnect from IB and reset NinjaTrader's instrument list:
    • In the Control Center, click Tools > Options to load the Options menu.
    • Navigate to the Data tab and click 'Reset Instruments'
    • Restart NinjaTrader for the change to take effect.

      done all that

      same issues still occurring

      Running latest TWS and NT and have reset instruments and restarted.

        oh crap

        crap crap crap.

        Yet again all my charts are corrupted. Is this NT or Windows?
        It is happening with monotonous regularity.

        It is sooooooo frustrating and time consuming because 99% of it works.

          Mindset,

          1.) You should be using the 927.7 build of TWS not the latest TWS release.

          2.) Please clarify for me what behavior you see in the charts - an image would be even better if you're able to provide one.

            yes I followed the link in your prev post for the tws version - I assumed that was the latest.

            The error is that charts / workspaces keep corrupting - but it's subtle so I keep getting different problems - like todays.
            It is now all sorted but I would like dev to have a look at workspace chart corruption because it seems to happen a lot now.

              I need you to define 'corruption' as it's a somewhat general term. Specifically, what behavior do you note in the workspace.

                Charts don't plot correctly or orders go weird - stuff like that.
                An indicator just doesn't work correctly or doesn't plot anymore.
                Like I say it's subtle - except for today.

                I would say I redo a chart on my workspace once every week for some reason or other.

                  I would still need a more detailed description to be able to assist - how exactly are the charts incorrect? What part of the plot of the order is out of place?

                    Example

                    Here's an example from this morning.

                    In another workspace this chart has loaded fine... here it is just stuck 'loading data' - no bars, nothing.

                    ps If I switch to another instrument it just loads normally.

                      Hello Mindset,

                      Can you please disconnect IB. Go to Control Center-->Tools-->Options-->Data-tab and click Repair DB. Restart NinjaTrader and check if charts load the requested data once re-connected.

                      If not, please exit NinjaTrader and go to C:\-->Users-->*Windows user account*-->Documents-->NinjaTrader 7-->db and delete the cache folder. Start NinjaTrader and check again.

                      If the issue remains, please let us know and check for any consistencies between the occurrences.
