    IB symbols mapping

    Hi,

    I have problems submitting orders for different instruments to Interactive Brokers.
    It seems to be a symbol mapping problem.
    What are the right symbols for BRN (from ICE) and BH (from Nymex)?
    I have seen different values in the forum (like COIL||||1), but it doesn’t work for me.

    jbesada, for the Brent Crude on IPE the COIL||||1 mapping should be working, provided the instrument is setup with the IPE exchange. Are you working on NT7 R10 and TWS 927.7 here?

    If you check the instruments directly in TWS can you then normally access data / charts?

      Hi Bertrand,

      I have tested it with ICE and also IPE exchanges. Using the basic entry tool I have got the following error: “Rejected: Unable to submit order. Please assign additional exchange to this instrument in the Instrument Manager BRN 10-12 Default.”
      I can create an order manually with the TWS using COIL symbol without problems.
      I am using NT7 x64 R10 and IB Gateway Build 928.6, Jul 20, 2012.
      Regarding BH instrument, what is the right symbol?

        Which IB symbol do you use for BH / Nymex?

        For BRN - which exchanges did you have defined / checked for it in the Instrument Manager - IPE and Default and then moved with IPE selected to your default instrument list with the < button?

          OK, BRN is working now, it need to be included in the default list in order to be used with the basic entry tool.
          I am using HO for BH. I have tested with HO and HO||||1 mapping without success

            Can you please try HO||||1 for BH with the Nymex exchange selected and used? IB does not use Globex, but Nymex here.
