Lagging issues fast markets

Using CQG data from Amp on latest ninja build. I use Ninja along side Sierra - which has IQ feed running it. During really fast markets Ninja will lock up temporarily - and Sierra does not.

Is this possibly data related (ie CQG vs. IQ Feed) or platform related?

Thank you for your post.

This would unlikely be data related as we have not heard mass reports from other CQG or IQFeed clients.

The most common reason for the application locking up is due to the number of indicator calculations it is making per CPU clock cycle.

Please press CTRL + ALT + Delete and open the Windows Task Manager--> click on the Processes tab--> locate the NinjaTrader.exe process and check what the CPU column usage is currently at when you experience the freezing. If this gets stuck at a number, for example 25% on a quad core processor, this would indicate there is something which is taking up the available CPU resources during this time.
