    Right Click Order Placement ???

I'm testing out the bells and whistles of NinjaTrader and now experimenting with order placement off the charts.

I am using IQFeed 4.8.1.7 in Sim Mode.

When I right click on most charts I see the Buy, Sell, Sell Limit options. However when I right click on certain charts with symbols selected such as FB, FTNT, The PopUp menu has no provisions for order entry and this happens wheather I click above or below the price??? Why is this???

    Hello,

    Thank you for your post.

Please select FB or FTNT in the Orders tab of the Control Center - do you see updates to bid, ask and last price or do these fields report 'n/a'?

        Hi,

        Thanks for checking that.

This indicates that the account is not authorized for real-time data for those instruments - I'd recommend contacting your data provider to confirm your instrument authorizations. You'll be presented with order options only for those instruments which update in real-time.

That's not the issue as I have up to 500 RT symbols on any stock at one time.

Anyhow I think I figured it out I went to Intrument Manager selected Stocks checked Nasdaq for FB and now it updates and orders on charts show up in pop up menu.

As a matter of fact now with Type: Stock and Exchange Default selected any stock I type in now works.

            Hello,

A instrument which is not correctly configured would draw the same error - I'd assumed this was a real-time data issue as you did not mention a lack of historical data in the charts. In any case, I'm happy to hear that you've sorted things out - if anything else comes up please let me know.
