    FXCM demo

    How can I try out the FXCM connection with NT without purchasing NT first?

    My live account connects but shows multiple Historic data errors.

    Would it work on an FXCM Demo a/c?

    For the FXCM connections historical data is provided by FXCM.
    For FXCM connection licensing options please contact NinjaTrader support via e-mail.

    Yes, you can connect to an FXCM account via NinjaTrader by selecting the demo account option when creating your connection.

        Hello,

        You can connect to FXCM using the free simulation version of NinjaTrader. The only requirement is that you have a valid FXCM account.

          So as per the original post if I should be able to use with my Live FXCM a/c (not for NT Trading) then what happens is I get connected and just get a load of Historical data errors and no data.

          If you are saying it will only work via a demo a/c I will get one and try that.

            OK I have a valid Live and a valid Demo a/c with FXCM both connect but fail with data.

            I have double checked the connection instructions.

              Alan,

              Which instruments are you attempting to load?
              In which interval?

              When loading these charts, does an error trigger? If so, please provide the error's full text.

                Hi Kyle,

                OK I ditched my workspace and just have one 15min EURUSD chart but error is the same.

                "Error on loading chart data for $EURUSD default. Unable to get historic rates. Unknown issue for instrument $EURUSD."

                Same for Demo or Live.

                      Please disconnect from FXCM and reset NinjaTrader's instrument list:
                      Open the Options menu (Tools > Options) then navigate to the Data tab - click Reset Instruments and restart NinjaTrader.

                      Once you've restarted, reconnect and attempt to load a new EURUSD chart. Does the same issue occur?

                          FXCM UK connection

                          I also want to test the FXCM data feed (no live trading capability) with NT 7 before purchasing NT 7. I have a live account with FXCM UK. I have an expired license with NT 7, but still use it for chart analysis with live IQFeed forex data (FXCM). When I try and create a connection to FXCM there is no FXCM provider option that allows me to set up a connection. How can I fix this?

                          Also, as I said earlier I have a FXCM UK account. Can I trade CFD instruments with the FXCM data feed through NT 7?

                              Hi,

                              FXCM also offers CFDs and has data for the dollar index.
                              How is it possible to chart those in NT?
