Panic Error message

    Panic Error message

    Hello,
    I am trying to fill in the missing intraday data for ES futures from July 2006 to Jan 2008 and when I try to "Reload All Historical Data" I get two Error messages.
    The first one says: " Error on loading data: Unable to load historical data: unknown instrument (panic) ..."
    And the second one says: " Error on loading chart data for ES 09-06 Globex: unable to load historical data: unknown instrument..."
    Note I have data prior to July 2006 and after Jan 2008 . I am just trying to fill in the missing period in between. Also The data for ES ##-## for same period is NOT missing.
    Can you tell me what the problem is?

    Thank you for your post.

    Please reset your instruments with the steps I have provided below:
    • Disconnect
    • Tools
    • Options
    • Data tab
    • Reset Instruments

    Next please use the steps I have provided below to delete your historical data:
    • Close NinjaTrader
    • Documents
    • NinjaTrader 7
    • Open the db folder
    • Open the Cache folder and delete all files within this folder
    • Go back to the db folder
    • Open the Tick folder and delete all files within this folder
    • Repeat this procedure for the Day as well as Minute folders
    • Restart NinjaTrader

    This initial load may take a little longer than normal since all new data is being loaded from the historical data servers.

    Please let me know if the issue persists after this procedure.

      Hi Christopher,

      Are you trying to wipe out all the tick and minute data I have spent years to collect?
      My data is my most valuable commodity.
      Any other solutions?

        This would load available data from your providers servers. Can you tell me what data provider you are connecting to and how far back you have data stored currently for Tick, Minute adn Daily data.

        Also if you only reset the instruments and restart NinjaTrader does the issue persist?

          My providers are both Kinetick and Zen-Fire. My minute data goes back all the way to 1999 and tick data only a few years. (My minute data is my primary concern).
          I tried reloading and filling the missing data gap after I reset Instruments but got same panic message and also error messages for ES 09-06 and ES 12-06
          Does kinetick data actually go back to 2006 ?

            It appears Minute data for the ES goes back to January 2008 with Kinetick. Please send a note to Support [AT] NinjaTrader [DOT] com with "ATTN: Chris J" in the subject line.

            In the message, please include the following:
            1.) A link to this forum thread.
            2.) Your most current trace and log files.

            You will find the file here: My Documents > NinjaTrader 7-> Trace > trace.YYYYMMDD.txt

            Log file will be located by going to Documents->NinjaTrader 7->Log->log.YYYYMMDD.txt
