    Connection Esignal and IB

    Hello,

i want esignal as data feed and IB as broker. I want use the esignal datafeed (AB for Russell) to trade from chart trader and send the order to my IB account (ER2). How can I handle this? At the moment I can only realize an account connection with IB (Data feed from IB and order at IB account) or an account connection with Esignal (datafeed esignal and no order possibility to IB account).

    Hi Joker,

You can accomplish this by connecting to eSignal first and then IB. That way you look at eSignals data, but if you submit an order it will be routed to your IB account.

Instructions on how to set up eSignal can be found here:
    http://www.ninjatrader.com/webnew/support_esignal.htm

    Instructions for IB:
    http://www.ninjatrader.com/webnew/su...ivebrokers.htm

Let me know if you're able to get up and running.

      Hi Vincent,

thanks. Now I ve got it. Great!

Another question: Would you recommend to do it in this way (Datafeed Esignal, broker IB) or would you recommend to use the data feed from your broker (datafeed IB, broker IB)?

        Joker,

I guess both set ups would work. Unfortunately I can't recommend one over the other since they are both partners of ours.

Perhaps someone in our community can answer this for you and share his experience with us.

When the internet connection is down........

          Hello,

Because I meet some Internet disconnections during my trades, I would like to set NT for transferring my stop loss limit orders automatically and directly to the IB servers which is my broker. I mean that if the connection fails, I want that my back be (almost) always covered.

Could you tell me exactly what I have to do for that ?

          Thanks

          Happy trading

          Cheers

You just would need to place the order on the account of your backup connection (would not work with NinjaScript strategies, since they only run on one account which you can not toggle at this time).

              Hello Dierk,

I mean that I don't want to use "simulated orders" in my trading because if my Internet connection fails, my back won't be covered. When I 'm in a trade, I want that my stop loss limit orders (using ATM strategy) be on my broker's server !!

I believe that it's possible to set NT for that but how ?

              Thanks

              Best regards

              Angel

ATM strategy trades will be placed on the account you selected for this ATM strategy. If this account is not reachable then you would need to manually select your backup account to run the ATM strategy on. There is no "auto-roll" to a backup account whatsoever.

This has nothing to do with the sim account.

                  Dierk,

You wrote : ATM strategy trades will be placed on the account you selected for this ATM strategy

By that, do you mean that the stop loss order is also on my broker server when using ATM strategy ? For example :

                  1) NT enters well my trade (using ATM) on my IB account
                  2) This trade was triggered
                  3) After that my internet connection fails

My question is : is my back covered or is my stop loss order on my broker's server ?

                  Thanks

Apart from NT sim stop orders and orders on sim account all (!) other orders make it to the broker: as soon as you see Accepted state they are at the broker.

Sim stop orders and orders on Sim account..........

                      Great, now it's OK !!

Last question, I understand orders on sim account but what do you mean by
                      NT sim stop orders ?

May I set NT to NOT make Sim stop orders on my IB live account ?

                      Thanks

                      Cheers

Please check out the docs for how NT's sim stop orders work.
