    NTscript - charttrader - CPU

    Hello,

for understanding the sense of my question I want to explain first shortly:

on my computer I have 8 instruments, each with 2 charts, so in total 16 charts. Each instrument in one chart works with fully automated NT-script-strategies and referring the other chart each instrument where I do discretionary and manual I want to ask:

does chart-trader need as much computer ressources as a NT-script (the script has about 800 lines, because of conditions, customized buttons, modifying stops and targets....)
or is it not important for computer ressources if I have chart-trader working in 8 charts or instead of chart-trader 8 NT-scripts.

(I think with 16 charts it could be important for the CPU how one works).

    Thanks
    Tony

    Hello Tony,

ChartTrader does not need the same amount of resources as your NinjaScript strategy. The NinjaScript strategies will affect computer resources. Especially when 'Calculate on bar close' is set to False. The strategy will be calculated on each incoming tick instead of the close of each price bar. This can be CPU intensive during high volatile periods.

      Thank you for your reply.

I know that with COBC=false this is more CPU intensive than with COBC=true.

Is a NT-script-strategy with COBC=true more CPU intensive than to work with different stops and targets in a chart-trader-ATM?

      Thanks
      Tony

Yes, the NinjaScript strategy will likely be more CPU intensive.
