Gann Fan , Points Per Bar

In Gann fan properties , there is a points per bar value. some clearing firms and brokers have stated false value for points per bar .

do you know what is points per bar for these tickers : ES , FGBL , FESX ?

    regards

amireck, I think there's a misunderstanding here, this is not the tick size / point value setting for the instrument here.

It's an input where you can specify the slope in points ber bar for this Gann drawing study.

but as AMP states in it's website every instrument has a points per bar . for example for 6e it is 0.0001 and for 6j it is 0.000001 , so what's this number for ES,FGBL,FESX ? i use in order these numbers 0.25 , 0.01, 1 . is it correct ?

Yes, sure that's your TickSize and Point Value for the general instrument setup - you can find those preset values for each master instrument under Tools > Instrument Manager.

Also, there would be no single 'correct' setting for the Gann Fann Points per Bar value, it depends on your use of this tool and signals you wish to generate for your trading style.

i want just to look for candles trading above 45 degrees and more.so with this criteria using pre defined numbers in instrument list would be appropriate ?

Yes, you would not want to change any of the instrument default settings.

u mean i should use each instrument specific setting ? for example i should use 0.000001 for 6j and 0.0001 for 6e OR never change the default setting of 0.0001 ?

You should not touch any of the settings under Tools > Instrument Manager - to adjust the Fann to your liking only use the point per bar input offered for the drawing study itself.

Is any body can make Gann Fan, that should automatically put on tops and bottoms of the past days till I have days showing on my chart.

                      Question...

                      Question this area...
On the screen shot below...a ruler from A to B shows 11 points and 103 bars...
                      11 / 103 = 0.1068 points per bar

In order to get the Gann Fan 1 X 1 line to follow the ruler AB line had to set the
points per bar as 1.07....setting at 0.107 did not work...the 1X1 line then was nowhere near the ruler slope.

What is the correct method here ?? It appears you must multiply 0.107 X 10 to get a number that works in the Ninja points per bar Fan setting....am I making a mistake here ??

                      Thanks....

Hi Alfred, if you would try the same on a single series 5 second chart with the value to your 0.107 - would it still not fit for the 1x1?

Yes....works OK on a new chart with no box bars...
Screen shot below...but should it also work when a box bar is included ??

                          Thanks...

                            Light Bulb...

Here's an idea...rather than setting up a ruler and doing the calcs and then plotting the Gann Fan...how about just drawing a line on the chart and assume that is your 1 X 1 line...then right click to activate the full fan....something like that as an alternate method...

Or ...make the 1 X 1 line interactive on any fan...grab and adjust to the trend slope you want...

You need to do something about having that one minuscule point to highlight the fan....very awkward...

                            thanks....

Thanks for the thoughts Alfred - will check into on a box chart as well and get back to you - think the difference here is the MultiSeries scaling adjustments that you see.
