    About new CME time hours

    Hi,

According to this CME Globex will change their hours of trading: http://www.ninjatrader.com/Advisory/Advisory12.php

The way i see it if i dont change the settings from now on there will be a black space without data between 4:15pm and 5pm. Is this correct?

And if i change the hours i lose data.

Will NT solve this issue in the next versions so we can use the new hours without losing past data prior to nov 18th?

    Frank
    Thanks

    Hello Frank,
    Thanks for your note.

Unfortunately you will witness the scenario as you cannot assign multiple session template on a chart.

Development will however will look into for our next major release.

            Hello laredo78676,
            Thanks for the information.

Please use the below steps to change the session template.
            • Right click on the chart
            • In the context menu click on Data Series..
            • In the Data Series dialog set the session template to <Use instrument setttings> for ES and NQ (as CME US Index Futures ETH is the default session template for the instrument unless you have changed it) and "CME US Index Futures ETH" for CL and 6E.

You need to make the above changes for each charts in each workspace.

                Hello laredo78676
Please rollover to the CL 01-13 contract instead of trading the CL 12-12 which has expired.
Also please change the rollover date for CL 01-13 to November 15.
                • In Control Center menu bar goto Tools>Instrument Manager
                • In the Instrument Manager dialog type in CL in the Name text box and click on the Search button
                • Select CL from the data grid below and click on Edit button
                • In the Instrument Editor dialog click on Misc Tab
                • Scroll Down and click on the [...] button in the Contract Rollover field
                • In the new dialog set the Rollover month for 01-13 Contract to November 15.

Please restart NinjaTrader after you have made the changes.

Please reload your historical data after you have restarted NinjaTrader.
To reload your historical data please right click in the background of your chart and select 'Reload All Historical Data'.

Since resetting my session manager (I am sure it is correct) the S&P Emini ES close has been wrong with my charts being up to 2 points adrift from official CME close at 5:15PM EST.

Is there something else I need to do? Others are still using the ES 12-12 contract Ok.

                    Hello RichardHK,
Yes, the near month contract is ES 12-12.

To assist you further may I know:
                    • What timeframe of charts you are comparing with
                    • Who your connectivity provider is
                    • What session template you are using to view the charts.

Can you please post a screenshot depicting the scenario.

If you use the new ETH Session Manager that NT Suggested then the RTH Close and the ETH Close will be different.

RTH Close (4:15 PM EST) vs the ETH Session Close (5:15 PM EST).

As usual the Fed Gov't is making life difficult. This all because of the SEC.

All together now, "Thank you SEC"

                        Hi Joydeep, TAJTrades,

Silly me! I should know better not to argue with computers. (Or the CME/SEC.) By preparing the screenshots I realized I was mistaken.

Being currently 13 hours ahead of EST I got the proverbial knickers in a twist (although do not wear them!) updating the session manager with incorrect time. Duh! Made change and all perfect.

Sorry to bother you busy guys. Thanks for your time. It was that CL contract issue that threw me.
