Order cancelled

Hello,

I have several strategies enabled. An order gets placed and with it the risk management orders. I see the position open and my contingent orders active. Everything appears to be working fine. My computer has a problem and I need to restart. I ran NT again and while re-enabling my strategies my contingent orders get CANCELLED and the position is still open.

What's going on?
Please help.

Hello TexFly,

I suspect this is due to the 'On starting a real-time strategy' setting and 'Synch account position' setting. The first setting can be found at Control Center-->Tools-->Options-->Strategies-->NinjaScript-tab. The second one when you start your strategy in the strategy settings. Please see the link below for more information.

Check what settings you have been using and if they clarify why the orders were cancelled.

I have "Wait until flat before..." and "Do no sync with" in the strategy. How does it affect the behavior I described earlier? If my computer restarts I want to be sure my orders do not get cancelled.

Please see the informaton below from the help guide under 'Wait until flat before executing live, Sync account position = false'.

When your strategy starts it will check for any active orders previously generated by the strategy on your account and cancel those first.

I understand. How do I configure my system so the orders do not get cancelled and Sync is OFF?

Also, can I easily re-activate those orders?

You will need to use one of the other combinations and see what suits best for you.

Unfortunately I do not see how to re-activate the orders. You can submit orders manually, but the strategy will not recognize these orders.

Can I do the following?

1) First time I start my live campaign I have Wait until flat before executing live, Sync account position = false
2) If anything happens to my trading computer and I'm forced to restart I can switch to Immediately submit live working historical orders, Sync account position = false


Can I do this without messing up the whole system? ;-)

Yes, this is possible. Once NinjaTrader is restarted, please change the 'On starting a real-time strategy' setting and subsequently right click in the Control Center-->Strategies-tab and select New Strategy. Set 'Synch account position' accordingly and run the strategy.

If I do not change the strategy sync mode (leave it on do not sync...) but only the "wait until flat.." option do I still need to recreate all the strategies or I can just enable them?

What are your settings for Handling and Order Handling?

Cancel entry orders and Cancel exit orders....Both unchecked...

It is "keeprunning"...

The KeepRunning setting will cause the startegy not to be terminated when you experience a disconnection. More information can be found at the link below.
