    TWS problems when connected to NT

    Hi,

    since a long time, I think I know this problem a few years, I have problems with my TWS when I am conneted with NT.

    Since today I thougt it´s a TWS problem. Today I changed a few things in my TWS whithout a connection to NT and everything worked fine. I then connected to NT and I had all the problems.

    Problems are that I cant change things in TWS. When I open a chart in TWS and want to change the color the opened menue flippes away in milliseconds.

    The same happens when I want to change order presets. Nearly every opened menue flippes away in milliseconds/senconds.

    TWS: 927.7 (even this windows flippes away)
    NT: 7.0.1000.10

    Please dont tell me to upgrade to .11 because I have this problem for many years and if I remember I had this problem with 6.5 as well.

    What is this? Why is this like it is? And what can I do?

    I do not experience this behavior on my end in TWS when connected to IB in NinjaTrader.

    Try the following. Shut down NinjaTrader and transfer the Config.xml file to a different location. This file holds all created connections. You can find the Config.xml file at C:\-->Users-->*Windows user account*-->(My) Documents--> NinjaTrader 7.

    Start NinjaTrader and enter your license key. Create a new IB connection as per the instructions at the link below.


    Check if the issue remains.

      nothing changed. and i have to notice that if i open a chart in tws and open the menue to change the color i cant work with the nt control center. the buttons file/tools/help flippes away.

      i had this problem with my last pc, with this pc and with my laptop. doesnt matter if it is an amd or intel cpu. so it might be a problem of nt structure.

      maybe some can try this an tell us the results.

        If this would be an issue of the NT structure, I would be able to reproduce it and everyone else. This is not the case.

        Could it be caused by a setting in TWS? I suggest to contact IB support as well and check if they can clarify why TWS menus disappear in milliseconds.

        I suggest to try an uninstall/reinstall of TWS and check if this will make any difference.
        If the issue remains, please send me your log and trace files. Go to Control Center-->Help-->Mail to Support in NinjaTrader. Put 'Att Jason, TWS problems when connected to NT' in the subject field and enable 'Log and trace files'.

              Can you please go to Control center-->Tools-->Account Connections, highlight the IB connection and click Change. Click Next twice and check if 'Run-time pop up handling' is enabled. If so, please disable it and finish the connection.

              Restart NinjaTrader and check if the issue remains.

              When I test it with this option enabled, the Help-->About TradersWorkStation window does not stay open - it automatically closes within a second or so.

                o.k. lets do the same I did, or did you test it like this?

                open a chart for siemens chixde

                SIE - then click on directed - select CHIXDE

                When your chart is open go to the menue on the top of the chart to change the color. The icon has three rings. Now try to change one of the 20 colors.
