    Data Server Connection issue

    Hello,

    I am using NT behind a firewall . The application can log to your server ( it verifies the license with success), but then cannot get any data from Gooogle or Yahoo .


    I am getting this error message :

    Unable to connect to NinjaTrader data server (64.202.118.179/31654): A connection attempt failed because the connected party did not properly respond after a period of time, or established connection failed because connected host has failed to respond

    Are there any ports that I should open that are specific to your data server ??

    Thank you for your post.

    Please confirm the IP addresses and Port below are not being blocked.
    • 64.202.118.181
    • 64.202.118.144
    • 64.202.118.179
    • 64.202.118.180
    • Port = 31654

    Please let me know if the issue persists after this procedure.

      Hello,

      All these IP's have been authorized in my firewall but , still cannot connect to the data server.

      11/12/2012 08:31:48|1|4|Order entry hot keys disabled
      11/12/2012 08:31:48|1|2|Optimized CPU performance enabled
      11/12/2012 08:31:48|1|4|Automated trading disabled
      11/12/2012 08:36:25|0|4|Error on loading chart data for 'AA Default': Failed to retrieve data from Google


      (trace file 2012-12-11 08:32:03:780 (Google) Data.Bars.GetBarsNow: instrument='AA' from='2012-09-02' to='2012-12-10' period=Dail ) ...ensures that I am requesting daily bars


      I have the exact same issue with yahoo ....

        Can you tell me if you have the same issue when connected to the Kinetick End of Day (Free) connection as well.

          With Kinetick its even worse .....

          It can't even connect ......

          With Google and Yahoo I see it can establish the connection but not retrieve data .

            Please open the Kientick ports provided below then let me know if you can then connect to Kinetick.

            IP Range: 66.112.156.0/24
            Backup Server Farm IP Range: 66.112.148.0/24

              I allowed these two IPs but it does not change anything .I still cannot connect to Kinetick .

              Would you have an idea of what is causing the issue ?.

                Please send a note to Support [AT] NinjaTrader [DOT] com with "ATTN: Chris J" in the subject line.

                In the message, please include the following:
                1.) A link to this forum thread.
                2.) Your most current trace and log files.

                You will find the file here: My Documents > NinjaTrader 7-> Trace > trace.YYYYMMDD.txt

                Log file will be located by going to Documents->NinjaTrader 7->Log->log.YYYYMMDD.txt

                  proxy settings ninja trader

                  Hello,

                  Setting use proxy settings on true in the config file solved the issue .



                  The config file is located here

                  C:\Program Files\NinjaTrader 7 \bin\NinjaTrader.exe.config.
