    import historical data stock error

I downloaded historical data for AAPL and saved as .txt file
In Tools > Historical Data Manager >
I tried both NT formats / last / -5 timezone / generate day bars (and I tried unchecked)

error log - AAPL: Time stamp line 2 is smaller/equal than timestamp of previous line

how can I upload historical data?

    thanks

    Hello cowboyss,

    Thank you for your post.

Could you please copy and paste the second line of the file you'd tried importing?

            Hello,

The data you're using does not appear to be in the correct format. Please see the following for the correct format

            Minute Bars Format
Each bar must be on its own line and fields must be separated by semicolon (. Only 1 minute bars can be imported.

            The format is:
            yyyyMMdd HHmmss;open price;high price;low price;close price;volume

            Sample data:
            20061023 004400;1377.25;1377.25;1377.25;1377.25;86
            20061023 004500;1377.25;1377.25;1377.25;1377.25;27
            20061023 004600;1377.25;1377.25;1377.25;1377.25;24
            20061023 004700;1377.50;1377.50;1377.25;1377.25;82

            Daily Bars Format
Each bar must be on its own line and fields must be separated by semicolon (. Only 1 day bars can be imported.

            The format is:
            yyyyMMdd;open price;high price;low price;close price;volume

            Sample data:
            20061023;1377.25;1377.25;1377.25;1377.25;86
            20061024;1377.25;1377.25;1377.25;1377.25;27
            20061025;1377.25;1377.25;1377.25;1377.25;24

Since Yahoo only allows import of daily or larger, where can I get 1 minute bars for the full history of companies?

                Hello,

There are a few 3rd party vendors who offer historical data you can import. We do not have any suggested recommendations, but I've heard good things from users regarding www.tickdata.com

                  Matthew,

I want to purchase a year's worth of tick data from tickdata.com. Will I be able to build volume/tick charts with that data? Also, is there still a problem with the data format from tickdata.com and NT7?

The tick data you purchase can be used to build volume/tick charts with NinjaTrader.

Tickdata.com actually has a NinjaTrader formatted output you can select when you export the data.

Thanks for your response! Does it matter if I use TickWrite Download and TickWrite On-Demand or just have them ship it to me?

I'm really not sure what the difference is between those products. I'd suggest contacting them as they have very excellent support.
