    non-compileable files

    Hello,

    I have restored my data from the 32-bit onto my 64-bit NT7.
    Unfortunately i did have to to do following procedure ( although with success);

    In most cases this can be resolved after the restore has completed by going to the NinjaTrader Control Center > Tools > Edit NinjaScript > Indicator > select any Indicator > OK > once the NinjaScript Editor loads please right click in the NinjaScript Editor > select References... > then select Add... > select any Third Party .DLL files needed > Open > OK. Repeat for any additional Third Party .DLL files needed.

    Now, few days later, I wanted to make a new backup, but i do get the message;

    You selected to backup your Ninjascriptfiles however they are in a non-compileable state and will be excluded from your backup.
    What can i do to make a full backup ( how do i compile these files?

    Regards,

    Rob

    Hello Rob,

    Please follow the instructions below to see where the errors are coming from after compiling any indicator. This will allow you to debug the indicator/strategy or remove it from your PC. If you are wondering why you receive an error when compiling only one indicator, it is because NinjaTrader always compiles all indicators and strategies - not just one. This is done to give you the highest runtime performance possible.
    • Open NinjaTrader
    • From the Control Center select the Tools menu--> select the Edit NinjaScript menu item--> select Indicator
    • Select any indicator and double click on it (we need only to open and compile one script to see all compile errors for all files).
    • A new window will appear and you will need to right click in the window and select Compile to compile the indicators.
    • At the bottom of the window a new section will appear where you can find the error locations.
    • From there you have the option to comment out offending code sections, remove the complete indicator or debug it to be able to compile again.
    If you are unsure as to what the error is indicating, please send me a screenshot of the error with the name and description fields clearly readable.

    To send a screenshot press Alt + PRINT SCREEN to take a screen shot of the selected window. Then go to Start--> Accessories--> Paint, and press CRTL + V to paste the image. Lastly, save as a jpeg file and send the file as an attachment. You can send the email to support[at]ninjatrader[dot]com. Put 'Att Jason, non-compileable files' in the subject header.

      Hi,

      I've tried to import an updated version of an indicator and NT told me it couldn't be uploaded, see attachement one
      Then i tried all 5 out of 6 steps;

      Now i made 2 new screenshot, the compile error is not listed in NT.
      Translation last screenshot; Anaasembly with the simpl name......... bla bla.... has already been imported. Try to delete one of the references OR sign both so that they can be turned on side by side.

      Please help me out here. i did send an email to support as well with the attachments

      Thanks in advance,

            Backup Problem - No compileable state

            Hello,

            I have the same problem when I try to backup, and I have followed your indications but when I try to delete the indicator I receive the message that this indicator that it can't be deleted, because "is likely referenced by other NinjaScript files and these dependencies need to be removed".

            I have tried to delete some other but always I receive the same message.

            Attached I include a print-screen of one of the indicator that I intended to compile.

            Could you give me some advice?

            Thanks and regards.

            Miguel
