    IB India DataFeed

    Hi,

How does Ninja Trader fair IB Indian data feed ? NSE symbols have hyphens and special characters.
Can orders be submitted to IB for such symbols selected from chart or DOM?

    Regards,

    Hello abhayt,
Welcome to the forum and I am happy to assist you.

Yes, you can trade instruments with special chars with NinjaTrader. You have to map the symbol accordingly.

Please refer to the attached screenshot which demonstrates the settings for MCDowell-

      Hi Joydeep,

      Thanks for your prompt reply.

Could you please let me know how can I setup a futures symbols. Say the IB Ticker for DLF Future is DLF12DECFUT

How can I map this into Ninja Trader to get correct data feed into Charts and DOM ?

Also when futures are rolled into next month JAN do I need to create the whole list of new contracts manually?

      Thanks

        Hello abhayt,
Please refer to the instrument "Reliance" which comes pre-configured in the Instrument Manager to know how to append a NSE listed futures instrument.
        • In Control Center menu bar goto Tools>Instrument Manager
        • In the Instrument Manager type in RELIANCE in the Name text box and click on Search
        • Select RELIANCE from the data grid and click on Edit button.

OK, I checked the steps you suggested. Few questions here :

          1) If I want to add all Futures Symbols of a specified maturity say DEC to an Instrument list, what is the way? Do I need to select each symbol one by one?

          2) In DOM will the depth of the market be visible for Indian Stock Futures (IB data feed)? Or it would just be NBBO?

          3) Is there any delay between data that feeds into TWS and the data that feeds into Ninja Trader via API?

            Hello abhayt,

1.) Please use these steps: http://www.ninjatrader.com/support/h...ment_lists.htm

2.) Depth of market should be available as I understand it.

3.) Data is fed to NinjaTrader in real-time.

I had a look at that link u mentioned. It only lets you add one symbol at a time. If there are 400 symbols which need to be added to the instrument list, whats the way out??

                Hello,

Unfortunately, there is no other option - instruments must be added to lists one-at-a-time. This is something we hope to change in the future however.

                  Ok, thanks for your reply.

Kindly raise a ticket for it. Trivial thing like Select All (Ctrl+A) should be enabled. Its a big pain to add hundreds of symbols one by one especially in Futures where new contracts are added every month.
