Primary connection=ConnectionLost, Price feed=ConnectionLost issue

    Primary connection=ConnectionLost, Price feed=ConnectionLost issue

    I have an problem in my strategy. It work well backtest. If it is running in real time, the system stop auto.

    I saw the log file show info below, Primary connection=ConnectionLost, Price feed=ConnectionLost. Even I run it in the server. Same thing appeared. How can I avoid it?

    Did anyone met same issue in your strategy? Or there are some Connection/order management function need to be update.

    Please advise.

    What dataprovider or broker are you using ?
    Is your internet connection still working after it gets disconnected ?

    This thread is about IB TWS, but maybe the info in post#8 under "2) IB Server restart" may be of some help to you.

    It describes how to make Ninjatrader less sensitive to temporarily disconnects

      I use zen_fire. Even I rent a server in Chicago. This problem always stay there.

        just a few questions which might lead to the root of the problem:

        What happens if you connect to Zenfire and open a chart of the same instrument you are trading in your strategy ? Does the chart keep working all day with live incoming data ?

        How long does the strategy run before these disconnects occur ?
        Do these disconnects always occur at the same time of day, or are they random ? Are you on the latest version of NinjaTrader ?
        After the strategy gets disconnected, do you still have internet access ?

          Yes.

          Sometime half an hour, sometime more than 2hours.
          Do these disconnects always occur at the same time of day, or are they random ?
          It is random.
          Are you on the latest version of NinjaTrader ?
          Yes, version7.
          After the strategy gets disconnected, do you still have internet access ?
          yes. I have internet access.

            so you are on R11 of NT7 ? (the latest version of NT7, see NT download site)

            To me it seems like a hardware issue, like modem or firewall (temporarily) blocking incoming price feed. I have no experience with Zenfire, but it is unlikely that they are the cause of these disconnections.

            Can you post the NT log file from the point of the first disconnection error like you posted, until the log file entry where the strategy gets disabled ? If I recall correctly these disconnection errors are in yellow.
