    Problem loading charts

My charts have been very slow to load for about a week. I just tried uninstalling ninjatrader and reinstalling. Now charts are not loading at all and ninjatrader seems to be stuck trying to load the charts.

    Hello,

    Thank you for your post.

Please use the steps I have provided below to delete your historical data:
    • Close NinjaTrader
    • Documents
    • NinjaTrader 7
    • Open the db folder
    • Open the Cache folder and delete all files within this folder
    • Go back to the db folder
    • Open the Tick folder and delete all files within this folder
    • Repeat this procedure for the Day as well as Minute folders
    • Restart NinjaTrader

This initial load may take a little longer than normal since all new data is being loaded from the historical data servers. After everything has loaded please restart NinjaTrader and let me know if you continue to experience a slow load time.

Please let me know if the issue persists after this procedure.

          Hi guys

My own charts are taking a very long time to load.

I've read this thread and the advice about emptying the db and cache folders.

My main question is this: I have over a year's worth of historical tick data which is extremely helpful for many factors, especially backtesting. If I clear these folders as suggested, would I be able to replace all this data? (I'm wondering whether the data I have may have got corrupted in some way, hence the problems loading the charts.)

Also, might it be helpful to repair the database in these circumstances?

Thanks in advance for any assistance with this.

Can you tell me what data provider you are connecting to within NinjaTrader.

Thanks for getting back to me on this, Christopher.

              My provider is Kinetick.

With Kinetick you will only be gauranteed 120 days worth of Tick data. So I can look into other factors that may be causing load issues please send a note to Support [AT] NinjaTrader [DOT] com with "ATTN: Chris Jameson" in the subject line.

Hi - I'm thinking of deleting all my historical data using the steps that Christopher suggested in this thread on 02-04-2013.

Christopher mentioned going into the db folder, then into both the Cache and Tick folders and deleting all files within them.

My question is this: when inside the Cache and Tick folders, can I just 'Select All' and delete all the sub-folders - or do I have to go inside each sub-folder (within Cache and Tick) and then delete the files?

Thanks very much in advance for confirming this.

Once inside the Tick or Cache folder you can select all then delete and you will not need to go into each sub folder separately.
