Is there an indicator, like in metatrader (volume indicator), which displays the number of ticks in a time bar? thanks!

The VolMA just shows the average number of volume in a period.

You can try putting that period to 1 to see if that gives you a better idea of what you're looking for.

I'm not aware of an existing indicator that shows the number of ticks in a minute bar, but it would be possible to create.

            Thanks!

What does the buysellvolume count as volume? is it the number of ticks, or is it actual volume for that broker (whatever volume means)? also does the volume profile indicator use the number of ticks in that range of price, or does it use volume? i looked at help but wasnt clear, whats difference between 'volume numbers' and volume counted as ticks, i assume that ticks is used as volume, but the buysellvolume is counted in terms of millions, so i dont know.

Volume is reported from the exchange/data provider. It is the number of contracts that have traded in a given period.

All the Volume indicators use the volume data set provided from the exchanges.

A tick would be a change in price and is not equal to volume.

one more question. if someone has a buy order, and the stop loss is hit, does that count as a contract that is sold, so it would show up in the volume indicator?

so a sell can be from someone deciding to sell, or from buy stop loss being hit, and vice versa

Volume is just a contact traded. It does not indicate if it was a buy or a sell. The "side" of the market a trade was executed isn't sent to a program like NinjaTrader. We'll get the bid/ask/volume and last price, but there is no way to know for sure if this was an entry or exit order.
