Loading historic contract data from 2011 back

    Hi,

I have imported quarterly contract data for the FTSE going back to 03-11. However, when I try to use the contracts before 03-12 I am unable to access them from the Chart > Data Series window. I seem to be able to select 2012 contracts but not 2011 even though I can see the data is imported in the Historical Data Manager. I have the option to select ##-## but I don't think that is correct here. How do I access data from pre-2012?

    Thanks,
    darmbk.

    Hello darmbk,

Thank you for your forum post.

You can add these previous contract expiry dates to an instrument list:
    • Control Center > Tools > Instrument Manager...
    • Type the instrument name into the name field > Click Search
    • Select the Instrument from the grid below.
    • Under the grid > Select the proper expiry date from the Expiry drop down menu.
    • Click the "<" left arrow button to add this expiry date to your instrument list.
    • Click OK to save the instrument list.

      Hi Ryan,

The 'Expiry' drop-down menu in Instrument Manager only specifies 05-15 back to 02-12 and ##-## as the options for the contracts. However, I have successfully imported data for 03-11, 06-11, 09-11, 12-11.

      Thanks,
      darmbk.

        Hello darmbk,

        Thank you for the information.

Check to see if you can add these expiry dates after switching your local PC clock to the year 2011:
        • Right mouse click on the clock in the Windows system tray > Adjust date/time
        • On the Date and Time tab > Change date and time...
        • Set the PC clock back to 2011 > Click OK
        • Within NinjaTrader add the proper expiry dates to your instrument list.
        • Set your clock back to the current year.

Please let me know if this helps to resolve the situation or if I can provide any further assistance.
