    Cycling Through Charts

    Hi,
I need to look at a hundred charts daily.
What's the most efficient way to cycle through these charts?
I'd like to setup the Interval, Indicators, etc once and then go through each symbol.

    Thanks.

    Hello,

Thanks for writing in with this question.

Within NinjaTrader 7 the best option would be using the Windows shortcut ALT + TAB to cycle between windows.

How do I create these charts to begin with? One by one?
Also, having 100 windows is going to really slow down my PC.

        Hi,

Sorry - I'd assumed that you'd created the windows already. They would need to be added one-by-one and a performance hit is possible with that amount of windows.

A better solution might be adding the symbols to an instrument list and cycling through instruments by selecting them from the chart's toolbar.

          Thanks Kyle.
I created an instrument list called 'ETF' that has several dozen symbols in it.
I created a new chart and use one of the symbols in ETF.
How can I select the next symbol from the list ETF from the chart's toolbar?
It looks like only the symbols from the "Default" list is displayed.

            Hello rkm2011,

Unfortunately the chart toolbar will only reflect the Default instrument list. If you like to switch instruments from the chart toolbar, please add the instruments to the Default instrument list.

You can quickly switch instruments by typing the instrument in a chart as well. Please see the link below under 'How to change a Data Series' for more information.

Changing and Adding Instruments and Intervals via Keyboard
You can change instruments or intervals by pressing a letter or number key in a selected chart. Within the window that appears, you can change the instrument, interval, or chart type by using the following formats and pressing the "Enter" key when finished. If multiple instruments are displayed in the chart, you can change a specific instrument by left mouse clicking to select it before typing. If no instrument is selected, the primary instrument is changed.

            To change an instrument:
Type the instrument symbol. (Add the front month for futures instruments) Examples: "ES 12-09" for E-mini S&P 500, "AAPL" for Apple stock or "EURUSD" for Euro/U.S. dollar Forex pair.

              Thanks.
              • Add the symbols to an Instrument List.
              • Add the Instrument List to a Market Analyzer
              • Link the Market Analyzer window to a Chart
The chart will display whatever has focus in the Market Analyzer.

                Hi koganam

Thanks very much for that: it works a treat! I've been wondering how to do that in NT for ages...

Then maybe you should have asked ages ago? The NT Forum is a very helpful place, you know.

Thank you! This is exactly what I was looking for -- a quick and easy way to cycle through a bunch of tickers. I do wish there was a quick method within a single window (i.e. space bar in TC2000 or up / down arrows in TradingView and TrendSpider) but this will definitely suffice!
