    MB Trading Connects Loads Slowly

I have been connecting to MB Trading for almost two years without problem.

The other day, an unintended line of code in an automated strategy caused MB Navigator to yield many (thousands?) of pop-up windows in Ninja. I had to close Ninja to close all the windows.

Upon reconnection to MB Trading, the MB Trading Naivagor window opens (but is white), and Ninjatrader churns the cpu for about 10 minutes. Eventually, NT unfreezes, and all is well. But, this 10 minute downtime is incredibly annoying.

Is there a cache I can clear, or some sort of history file I can delete? I can open my account with MB Trading's software just fine. It seems that NT is choking on something. I tried cleaning out the most recent log and trace files - did nto work.

    Thanks!

    Hello Serac,

Thank you for your forum post.

You can rename your database file to troubleshoot the situation:

Please rename your database by following the steps listed below. Doing so will cause NinjaTrader to create a new database on start up. Because of this, ATM strategy templates, session templates, custom instruments and instrument lists will need to be recreated.
    To rename the database:
    • Shutdown NinjaTrader.
    • Open the Documents > NinjaTrader 7 > DB folder.
    • Right click on NinjaTrader.sdf and select "Rename." *
    • Rename the file 'OLDNinjaTrader.sdf'.
    • Finally, restart NinjaTrader.

You can also clear the historical data cache to troubleshoot:

Please use the steps I have provided below to delete your historical data:
    • Close NinjaTrader
    • Documents
    • NinjaTrader 7
    • Open the db folder
    • Delete the Cache folder
    • Restart NinjaTrader
    • Connect

      Thanks, Ryan.

      I'll try that.

One quick question regarding your fix. I have lots of historical data I have spent much, much time collecting and inputing into NT. This is decades of tick level historical data and three years of Market Replay data.

Will your fix remove/delete/corrupt/change any of these data?

        Hello Serac,

Renaming the database file will not delete the historical chart data. It will clear any previous trade history though.

In regards to deleting the cache folder, this will delete cached historical chart data. The data that remains in the Day, Tick and Minute folders will be saved and should include your historical data.

You can troubleshoot without deleting the Cache folder data, but rather moving the folder to another location such as your desktop.
