Saving real time prices as database

    Hi Ninjas,

I know that Ninjatrader, in order to save real-time prices in the database, it´s necessary to have a chart with that info working on.

    Question:
    - If I like to save Bid-Ask-Last of the EURUSD, should I have 3 charts, each one for them ? or if I have just a chart with Last, that is good enough to save all one of them in the database?

    Thanks

    Hello pstrusi,

You will just need to have one chart open for the instrument to record the last, bid and ask prices.

You will need to receive this data from your data provider for it to be saved.

      Hi Ninjas,

I´m looking just to have a natural, non filtered, Bid serie forex data, if I just chart a "Bid Chart" the database would save the Bid serie data as it comes from the exchange?

I have this doubt for something I read in this forum from this support team: "However Bid/Ask data series are not constructed the way last or any data series are referenced. For example, Bid/ask series are build only if there is a corresponding last series. These internal logic's makes it different from the normal logic."

Does this mean that I couldn´t build a natural, non filtered, Bid serie cause it´ll build just if ocurs a "trade" ?

If so, how can I build just a Bid serie?

      Thanks a lot

        Hello pstrusi,

Please try using the Historical Data Manager 's Download tab.

Thanks Chris for the tip, however that wasn´t exact my problem, as you can see in the post what it was really about and the possible suggestions to solve it.

            Hello pstrusi,

I would recommend the workaround in Matthew's post.
