    Changing install-folder for NT7 64bit

    Hello,

how can I install NT7 in another folder than "C:\Program Files (x86)"?

I tried to change the path into "C:\Program Files" during the installation dialog but it installs always in the ... (x86)-folder.

    Thanks a lot.

You cannot install a x86 install to the Program Files folder.

Taking a step back, why do you need it in Program Files and not the default Program Files (x86)?

      Hi Matthew,

      I use 3 partitions:
      1) Windows Vista 32 bit (with NT7 installation in "C:/Program Files")
2.) storage partition for own files (NT7 folder with chart data and studies etc.)
      3.) Win8 64 bit (with NT7 installation in "C:Program Files (x86)")

I would like to use the NT7 data and studies on partition 2 from both operating systems. The studies contain some assembly references which I would need to change when I switch to the other oparting system because the installation folders of NT7 differ.

Therefore I would like to install NT7 64 bit into "C:/program files" on partition 3.

      Thanks a lot.

I would recommend installing this to it's own folder in the root of C or another hard drive you can access.

For example when installing you can switch the installation to C:\NinjaTrader 7

So I need to reinstall for both operating systems. Ok, I will try this.

          Before I start:
Do you see any reason why it could be not possible to access and change the NT7 data on partition 2 from both operating systems (and NT installations) in turns?

          Thanks a lot.

The data is saved in the active Documents\NinjaTrader 7 directory

As long as the Documents directory is mapped to the same physical location on both partitions, you shouldn't have issues.
