Reloading historical data

    Reloading historical data

    I had connectivity problems this morning and when I got re-connected my charts show data just from the time I got connected, well after the open.When I try to click re-load historical data it won't allow me.

    Any suggestions?

    Hello Vozdovac,

    Thank you for your note.

    Please restart NinjaTrader and reconnect to verify that you are fully connected to the live server and historical data server.

    Once reconnected, Right click in your chart -> Reload All Historical Data.

      I re-started and am connected but when I right click on my chart, the reload all historic data option is light-grey and won't allow me to click it.

        Hello,

        This means that you are not able to fully connect to the historical data server.

        Can you tell me the following:

        - What version of NinjaTrader are you using? You can check under Help -> About, this will look like 7.0.1000.xx

        - Who are you connected to? This is displayed in green on lower left corner of the Control Center window.

        - What instrument have you selected? If a Futures instrument, please include Front Month (ES 06-13)

        - Is there an error message listed in the Log tab of the Control Center? If errors are found, please report.

          .12 connected through TT. My futures charts are front month but under the log tab the message that shows is: MarketData request was rejected: unkown instrument (NQ 09-12). I don't know why under the log tab 09-12 shows when I have front month charts loaded.

              Can somebody please tell me why the "reload all historical data" option is greyish?

              Under the log tab this shows up:

              MarketData request was rejected: unknown instrument (NQ 09-12)

              My charts are all front month.. I logged in at 8:15 and see yesterdays data but no pre-market data. I've been using Ninja for 3 years and have never seen this.

                Hello,

                From our email conversation, you are using Trading Technologies, since July 31st of 2011 they do not offer Historical data for NinjaTrader.





                To receive historical data you would need to have a data provider such as Kinetick.

                Kinetick supplies at least 120 days of historical tick data, two years of minute data, and ten years of daily data, much more for popular instruments.
