    Data visible in Orders tab will not display on a chart

    I have been using NT for years and certain instruments seem to give NT a lot of trouble. Right now YG will show new data bars, or data bars older than 4/11/13. So days 4/11 and 4/12 are missing and I've tried reloading historical data, rebooting, opening new chart windows etc. I also reset the instruments. Nothing has worked. This happens regularly with YG only and is quite a nuisance. Any ideas how to fix this? Note that I have an open position in YG.

    Thank you for your post.

        Hello,

        Thank you for your post as well.

        While I do not believe this has anything to do with the issue which tradetree outlined, please proceed in the same way in contacting me with the information I requested in post 2.

          I just tried to send the support mail and it failed. I have sent many support emails over the years and never had a problem. Is it connecting to an NT server or to my own email account? I have never seen this. My regular email woks fine.

              Kyle, I wanted to bring what you wrote via email to see if someone else on the forum has this issue. You wrote, "Please note that historical data is loaded from our server when you connect to Vision Financial Markets. Unfortunately the server does not record historical data for this instrument anymore. You can save all real-time data you receive in charts by enabling 'Save chart data as historical' at Control Center-->Tools-->Options-->Data-tab."

              What do you do if your database of historical data is corrupted locally? Right now I have a gap in my data for YG and have no means of fixing it. I didn't know NT just turns on and off historical data.

                Hello tradetree,

                Please see my response I sent by email below.

                Historical data is not saved in the database, but in the following folders:

                C:\-->Users-->*Windows user account*-->Documents-->NinjaTrader 7-->db-->tick

                C:\-->Users-->*Windows user account*-->Documents-->NinjaTrader 7-->db-->minute

                C:\-->Users-->*Windows user account*-->Documents-->NinjaTrader 7-->db-->day

                You could connect to an additional data feed provider to load the missing data. See the link below under 'Understanding the data provided by your connectivity provider' which will list all supported data feed providers and what data they support.

                The matrix will list 'data feeds only' such as Kinetick and DTN IQFeed, but it lists broker technologies as well such as Zen-Fire and CQG.

                The broker technologies can only be used if you have an account at a supported broker partner that uses the broker technology in question. They will provide data in NinjaTrader and will allow you to trade your account at your broker.

                The 'data feeds only' will only provide data in NinjaTrader. You will need to have a subscription with one of these data providers to obtain login information, which you enter upon creating a connection.

                As per NinjaTrader 7, our preferred market data service is Kinetick. Real time service starts as low as $50 per month. If you trade CME Globex products, you can have these exchange fees waived if you have a qualified brokerage account. This service is only available for NinjaTrader 7. Please visit www.kinetick.com for more detailed information.

                Unfortunately the source that the histoircal data server uses to record data stopped supporting the Nyse Liffe exchange.
