Saving indicator configuration

Hello all,

I have various settings I commonly use for indicators. Is it possible to save these settings as a template? So I can add the indicator the chart and then select a specific template settings?

Hello Onn,

You can right click inside the Parameters section of an Indicator/Strategy and select "Set Default for <NameOfScript>" to be able to save the settings of an Indicator/Strategy so that you do not have to keep changing them. Note that these setting will be the same for All Instrument and Time Frames.

Yes you can. Right-click in the chart, and you will see an item for Templates on the popup menu. You can save the chart configuration. You can have any number of templates, within the constraints of the database size.

Thanks for that. Templates look like they certainly save indicators which helps.
From what I am seeing, it does not save strategies. Is there a way save strategy settings like a template?

Hello Onn,

Strategy templates can only be saved by right clicking inside of the Parameters section as Strategies are stored inside of your Database file. Chart templates like koganam mentioned will store all of the Charts Settings and Indicator applied to the chart itself.

Our Development is considering changing the Save parameters on a per instrument basis for future releases of NinjaTrader.
