    gaps in daily chart

    hi admin,
I'm using NT7 with CQG as a data feeder, it's strange that my daily chart has a lot of gaps as attachment shows, it's abnormal because the hourly chart has no gap at all, and I don't see gaps in other one's daily chart either. IMHO, if a smaller timeframe has no gap, the larger one should not have either. Btw,in setup of data series, session template is default 7-24. could you please investigate? thanks!

    Hello Mybzi,

    Thanks for your post.

With CQG daily bars are recorded in RTH (Regular Trading Hours) rather than ETH (Electronic Trading Hours) to our servers.
Since they are recorded in RTH they can only be provided in RTH.
To be able to view daily bars with CQG in ETH you have two options:

    1) Open a 1440 minute based chart (1440 minutes in a day) and use an ETH (Electronic Trading Hours), Default 24/7, or Default 24/5 Session Template.

    2) Use the Kinetick End of Day free feed and use an ETH (Electronic Trading Hours), Default 24/7, or Default 24/5 Session Template.
    The Kinetick is as follows:
    • From the Control Center -> File -> Disconnect -> your CQG connection
    • File -> Connect -> Kinetick End of Day
    • File -> Connect -> Your CQG connection
This will now make Kinetick be set to retrieve the data before CQG.

      Hi,
      Thanks for fast feedback!

The 1st method works perfectly, only pity is, the default setup for MINUTE period needs to be enlarged a lot, otherwise it can only show quite a short period data. Any solutions pls?

The 2nd method I've not tried, just wonder if it's used Kinetick as a preload datafeed, it can only receive data until end of date, not real time?

      Thanks again!

You will need to set the days to load to a higher value to display the 1440 minute 'daily' data correctly. You can set the default for your minute period to higher day, but that will affect all minute periods.

Please see our Help Guide article on setting chart defaults:

Correct - this is not a real-time feed. If you wish the data to update in real-time, you'd either need to subscribe to a kinetick real-time connection, or use the 1440 minute method.

          CL daily chart

          Hi,
I found a new issue regarding daily chart of CL 06-13, it has very limited data no earlier than last Nov, no matter what is set in data series, any idea? Thanks!

            Hello mybzi,

            Thanks for your reply.

            Please check your merge policy.
You can do so by going to Tools> Options> Data
Under Merge Policy select either MergeBackAdjusted or MergeNonBackAdjusted
            Select OK
Right click on your chart and select Reload All Historical Data

Below I have provided a link to the Data Tab section of our help guide.

              Hi,
              Thanks a lot for patience!

I check data tab, it's all the same with user guide, no need to change. The strange thing is this issue only found in CL 06-13, for other instrument, daily chart works quite well.

              Any clues? Thanks.

Select the CL under the Available Master Instruments
                Press Edit
Under Merge Policy select either MergeBackAdjusted or MergeNonBackAdjusted
