NinjaTrader, FXCM and CFDs

Hi, I trade live with Ninja Trader and FXCM UK. But in the instrument list from NT7 I also found forex instrument and not CFDs. I am no sure how I can add in the NT7 instrument list the CFDs that FXCM UK offers?

Is is possible to trade CFDs with NT7 and FXCM with account in UK?

Any idea?

Hello Chris,

Yes, this is possible. Can you please go to Control Center-->Tools-->Options-->Data-tab and click Reset Instruments. Restart NinjaTrader and check if you see CFD's in the Instrument Manager. If not, please tell me what NinjaTrader version you have installed. You can check this at Control Center-->Help-->About (7.0.1000.x).

GREAT, that works :-) Thanks for you help, now I can trade Index CFDs like DAX and DJ with NT7 with Broker FXCM. Great job.

Hi Jason,

I followed your indications in order to coneect to FXCM, but does not work for me. I have not the FXCM option in the provider list when I try to do a new conection.
My Ninja version is 7.0.1000.13

Hello Fernando,

Can you please send me an email that includes your license key you have entered at Control Center-->Help-->License Key. Likely it is setup for a different broker technology, so it excludes FXCM.

You can send the email to support[at]ninjatrader[dot]com. Please put 'Att Jason, NinjaTrader, FXCM and CFDs' in the subject header.

Hi Jackson, I have heard that CFDs with FXCM is only possible for traders outside USA, I am not sure but hopefully it will help.

I have a non-Hedging Demo account with FXCM; connection works fine (I am using NT 7.0.1000.14; I am not located in the US);
however I never see any CFD symbol in the Instrument manager, and once connected to FXCM only currency symbols are visible in Instrument Manager.
So I created a new "currency" symbol FRA40 (the CFD on CAC40) and can chart the data; however trying to create GER30 does no work.
Is this the right way ? What am I doing wrong ?

Can you please disconnect FXCM and go to Control Center-->Tools-->Options-->Data-tab and click Reset Instruments. Restart NinjaTrader and check if you see CFD's in the Instrument Manager.
