unable to load historical data unknown instrument

Hi guys i am running a backtest, and I have tick data for ES stored locally on my hard drive, but I need to be connected to Kinetick for another instrument series in the same strategy.

When I run the backtest it gives me the message "unable to load historical data unknown instrument" for the ES tick data. How do I get it to recognize the local data?

    Hello,

    Thank you for your post.

NinjaTrader will automatically request data from the server that is not available in the local database.

I have provided a link below that goes over when NinjaTrader loads data:

To resolve the error message you are receiving please reset your instruments with the steps I have provided below:
    • Disconnect
    • Tools
    • Options
    • Data tab
    • Reset Instruments
    • Restart NinjaTrader
    • Reconnect
Please let me know if I may be of further assistance.

Unfortunately resetting the instruments did not solve it. Any other ideaS? When I am disconnected the backttest works just fine. It runs on ES from the dates 1/1/2011 to 6/1/2011. Its tick data that I manually placed in the tick folder. My data provider is Kinetick.

When requesting tick data between the hours of 9:30am ET to 4:30pm ET you will have access to 8 days of historical tick data. If you request the data outside those hours the full 120 days is available therefore data for the dates you are requesting will not be available and will need to be imported from another source.

Unfortunately in this scenario there must be data that is attempting to be pulled from Kinetick therefore to backtest without the request being sent you will need to be disconnected.

Hi sir, is there anyway for me to manually download minute data for a particular instrument from Kinetick and store it on my local harddrive so it wont need to be connected during backtest?

You can download data manually by going to Tools-->Historical Data Manager-->Download.
