Broker for Canadian resident

Hi,

I am currently looking to open an account which would allow me to do automatic trading on Stocks and Futures through Ninjatrader. I am a French citizen living in Canada (Quebec), so I am a Canadian resident, and would like to know which brokers are available to me?

I have been on the websites of various brokers that can be connected to Ninjatrader and it seems that my only option is Interactive Brokers. However they have a 10 000 USD min account requirement during the first 6 months which might be difficult to maintain in case of loss (that's not the objective, but it may happen...).

So I was wondering if some of you have other brokers to suggest me?

Thank you for your post.

I believe you are correct in that your only option for 1 broker who supports both stocks and futures and Canadian residents is Interactive Brokers. You may want to as MB Trading as well.

Your other option is to use the NinjaTrader Multi- Broker license key and use 2 brokers; 1 for stock and 1 for futures. For stocks, try TD Ameritrade and/or MB Trading and we have many Futures brokers who can support Canadian clients: http://www.ninjatrader.com/partners.php#Brokers

Thank you very much for your reply Ray! I checked on MB trading websites and they do not accept Canadian residents neither. TD Ameritrade redirect us to TD Waterhouse and I think that Ninjatrader cannot connect to their platform? Am I correct?

Thank you Lance for your help, yes I think that it is my only option too. I am going to check with them if the 10k minimum applies for the first 6 months.
