How do I do a trailing buy stop?

Let's say I want to buy and instrument if it goes up 2 points. I can put a buy stop 2 points up.
But if price falls I want my buy stop to trail lower also.

For example at this very moment the ES is 1621.25. Suppose I want to buy it if it crosses 1623.25. But if it drops to 1610 I want my entry to follow it down and be 1612.

How do I do that? Thank You

Thank you for your post.

There is no function in the Order Entry windows for a trailing Stop. You can use Chase with Limit orders however.

You will not be able to create a custom trailing stop, but you can develop your own custom entry conditions for automated trading using NinjaScript. If you have never created a strategy before, I would recommend starting with our point and click interface Strategy Wizard.

There are a few Sample Automated Strategies which come pre-configured in NinjaTrader that you can use as a starting point. These are found under Tools--> Edit NinjaScript--> Strategy. You will see locked strategies where you can see the details of the code, but you will not be able to edit (you can though always create copies you can later edit via right click > Save as)

We also have some Reference samples online as well as ‘Tips and Tricks’ for both indicators and strategies:

These samples can be downloaded, installed and modified from NinjaTrader and hopefully serve as a good base for your custom works.
