    Drawing Objects Move After Closing Ninjatrader

    I tend to draw a lot of trendlines and circles/ellipses on my charts.

    However, If I then save my workspace and exit Ninjatrader I find that when I reopen Ninjatrader, say an hour later or the next day, all my trendlines and ellipses etc have moved and appear all over my chart.

    Is this a bug in Ninjatrader or am I doing something wrong, as it is making my daily/weekly review of my charts a nightmare. Thanks.

    I would expect the drawing objects to remain in the position they were saved at.


    Does this situation occur on a different workspace or a different chart?


    I can investigate further for any errors occuring if you send a note to Support [AT] NinjaTrader [DOT] com with "ATTN: Ryan L." in the subject line.

    In the message, please include the following:
    1.) A link to this forum thread.
    2.) Your latest trace file:

    You will find the trace file in the Documents > NinjaTrader 7 > Trace folder.
    • The trace file will be named "trace.YYYYMMDD.txt"

      Thanks Ryan,

      I have just sent the email.
      As far as I can tell its all chart and all workspaces as its been happening off and on for a while. And I even did a new reinstall of Ninjatrader earlier today.

          Please send your log and trace files for today so that we may look into what occurred.
          You can do this by going to the Control Center-> Help-> Mail to Platform Support.

            Are you using Renko variants or 1 tick charts? These type of charts can produce many bars with the same time stamp and if a draw object is anchored on one of those bars in a grouping with same time stamps you will see the results you mention. This is an area I had to address when creating my draw tools. They stay in place.

                Please manually attach your most current log and trace files to your response, so I may investigate this matter further.
                You will find the log file on your PC in the (My) Documents > NinjaTrader 7 > Log folder.
