TF data before 8/4/2008

Hi,

If I try to backtest my strategy on TF starting from any date before 8/4/2008, the backtest simply starts on 8/4/2008. How can i get data from before that?

Tom, welcome to our forums - there would be no contact expiries defined before as the TF contract on the ICE did not exist before this point in time. You could look into testing on the ER2 contract (which was the old TF contract) going back to 2005.

Thanks, that answers that. Unfortunately I am now having trouble back testing on ER2 If I select "on the fly" and then instrument type future and then ER2, it resets to default. I can however select ER2 and then ##-## which will leave up ER2 but then when I run the backtest, nothing seems to come up. any thoughts ?

Thanks, would expect then data up 2006 be available on the server. Please use the frontmonth ER2 03-08 now with a last date set to March 19th 2008 going back to start of 2006.
