pip value calculated in Account Performance SIM 101

Hello,

I'm trading GBPUSD in increment of 10,000 units (mini-lots) using SIM 101 accnt and for some reason the P&L calculation for GBPUSD is calculated as $0.1/pip as opposed to $1/pip in ACCOUNT PERFORMANCE->TRADES tab.

For example, 10K units long entry = 1.4800, exit = 1.4810 calculates to 10 pips, however the P&L displays as $1 as opposed to $10 when set to currency. When set to points, it correctly displays as 10 pts. The EURUSD trades show correctly, for example it will show as 10 pips and $10 P&L.

Is this a known problem or am I the problem?

Can you verify that your quotes in FX are set to the correct settings. You may do this by going to Tools -> Options -> Data tab and make sure the "Quote currencies (FX) in:" is set the the correct value that you wish. From the sounds of it you would want it in "Pip"

Let us know if the issue persists.

I checked this setting and is indeed set to "pips". All the other currency pairs seem to be calculating as expected, even the non-USD pairs (my base currency is USD).

Any other suggestions?

Hello,

Can you please go to Tools--> Instrument Manager--> locate the GBPUSD and tell me what both the Point Value and TickSize is set to?

GBPUSD was set to .0001 tick value and 10,000 point value. All the other non-Yen pairs were set to 100,000 point value. I set GBPUSD to match and the P&L is now calculated correctly.

Hello,

Yes, that would be it - the point value is used in the Forex calculations. 100,000 should be default for the this currency pair.
