how do I get historical data from Opentick into Ninja..?

    Mazachan - I'm waiting to hear back from Open Tick - fairly anxiously I have to admit. As soon as I hear anything from them, I'll post what they have to say here in this thread. However I don't expect to be hearing anything before sometime on Monday morning Eastern Standard time because Open Tick's office is in Florida USA.

      Well here we go again with historical tick data. Symbol - ER2 03-08.

      On Tues morning, before the markets open. No historical data, tick or minute was available. At 4:00 PM, yesterday, I did a Reload Historical Data. I was able to get historical minute data till 4:00 PM. Historical tick data stopped at approximately 1:40 PM.

      Today, at 8:15 AM, I opened my connection to NT. All historical data for 1-minute was downloaded. No gapes. However, tick data was another story. I only got historical tick data from approximately 12:00AM, today, to 2:58 AM. I have a gap in data from 03/03/08 1:40 PM to 03/04/08 12:00 AM and another gap from 03/04/08 02:58 AM to approximately 8:30 Am Today.

        I suggest contacting OT support for clarification. Did you post on there forum to address the issue at the right location?

            Once again ER2 tick historical is screwed up. !-minute historical seems to be fine.

            Data Start: 03/03/08 4:13 AM Data Stop: 03/03/08 1:40 PM
            Data Start: 03/04/08 2:48 PM Data Stop: 03/04/08 11:57 PM
            Data Start: 03/05/08 3:04 AM Data Stop: 03/05/08 3:05 AM
            Data Start: 03/06/08 8:15 AM Note: this is data from the RT server.

            No response from OT in their forum, which is typical. This information has also been posted in their forum.

            In my opinion, NinjaTrader should start considering dropping OpenTick as data vendor that will be supported. With over a year of experience using OpenTick, they just do not support their product. Every vendor has technical problems but you must have top notch support. OpenTick fails miserably when it comes to support.

                And again, no historical tick data for ER2.

                Data stops at 03/05/08 1:01 PM.
                Data starts at 03/07/08 8:15 AM from their RT servers.

                No data at all for 03/06/08.

                No response from OT.

                  Sorry, but there is really nothing we can do. These OT issues are beyond our control.

                    There is something that NinjaTrader can do. You can drop support for OT. That is unless they are paying you to support them. At this point in time, why would you want to be associated with them?

                      Thanks for your suggestion. We'll add it to the list of future considerations.

                      There is no payment flow whatsoever from OT to NT or vice versa.
