is there a way to run a strategy on a chart and see the trade it would take with entry and exit without actually sending the trades to the broker?

Sure, you could just let the script for example run in Global Sim Mode then, this would mean trades are executed to the internal sim account only, which you could reset as desired for different runs for example. In the paid version you can also have multiple sim accounts to send trades to.
