    Hourly data in chart not loading bars that come before a couple days ago.

    Currently my chart is not loading forex hourly data that happens before 7/22. Switching to daily works as expected.

    I went to the data series menu and increased the days to load to 10, but this result remains.

    I attached some pictures to illustrate this point.

      I'm using the forex feed from fxcm. It is a practice fxcm account if that is important.

        Hello,

        Thank you for getting back to me.

        You should be able to access up to five days of intraday data through FXCM. Please right click in the chart and select Data Series. What 'Days to Load' setting is used?

          I think I figured out what the problem is. I think the missing portion of data is the weekend where no trading takes place.

          Will I get access to more than five days of intraday data if/when I get an actual (non practice) account?

            Hello,

            No, the FXCM connections live accounts are also limited to five days of intraday data.

              Hi,
              I'm not wanting nor trying to hijack the thread, but I also use the fxcm and would like more than 5 days of intraday data.

              Is there another feed that we can use? I've tried Kinetick and get the same results.

                Hello,

                A secondary data provider like BarChart, eSignal, IQ Feed or Kinetick could be used. (Note that Kinetick's free EOD service provides only day bars however.)

                  Starting today, I just cannot get any historical data from FXCM; I always get a message saying:Unable to get historic rates. Unknown issue for instrument $EURUSD Default.
                  What is happening with FXCM ????

                    I am able to confirm this error on my end.

                    Could you test to see if this instrument has any issues while using the FXCM platform?

                      I just opened a new 15 mn chart of $EURUSD in MarketScope (FXCM platform) and historical data is here in the chart. So ....????

                        Hello jbiard,

                        So I've taken a few steps to test this.

                        I started by deleting all of my cached historical data.

                        Then I connected to FXCM and loaded a 1 Minute chart for the $EURUSD instrument.

                        I received the error message, but my chart also loaded all of the correct data.

                        There may be something going on with FXCM's server and the NinjaTrader API.

                        I am going to continue looking into this, however, in the meantime, it does appear that the data is coming through normally.

                          How do you clear your cached historical data ?
                          Yes, after you connect to FXCM the data is flowing in correctly, but you start with an empty chart and you have to wait for a long time before your indicators become usefull; this makes the connection .... useless.
                          I hope you will be able to find a fix for this very soon.

                            Hi jbiard,

                            To clear the cached historical data:
                            • Close NinjaTrader
                            • Open (My) Documents/NinjaTrader 7/db/cache/
                            • Delete all files within this folder
                            • Go up one directory to the /db/ folder
                            • Repeat this procedure for the tick, minute, and day folders as well
                            • Restart NinjaTrader
                            • Connect


                            Regarding this issue with the error message, this appears to have been resolved by FXCM.

                              Hello,
                              happy to hear that the problem should have been fixed by FXCM; but unfortunatly I am still getting the same error message.
                              I deleted my FXCM account connection, closed NT7, cleaned up my cached data as you recommended, rebooted my PC, started NT7, rebuilt my FXCM account connection (non hedging demo account) and opened a 5M $EURUSD chart, and ...... same error message.
                              What should I try now which proves that the problem has been fixed ?
