Can't get Crude prices

I have the same situation as davidfw1866 just a different broker technology:

* I have a live account with a broker.
* I have configured NinjaTrader to work with Trading Technologies.
* I have set up Crude Oil (ticker: CL) on the Instrument Manager.


In the log it say "MarketData request was rejected: unknown instrument (CL 04-08)"

Please go to Tools--> Instrument Manager--> Select CL--> Click Edit--> Misc--> Check next to Trading Technologies it should read CL|100.

Yes its reads CL|100. I just tried something I could get the quotes from the original futures installed but from none I added. Always comes back with "MarketData request was rejected: unknown instrument"

Can you please change the exchange to Globex instead of Nymex and check if you receive data.

Can you please verify you took the following steps.

Go to Tools-->Instrument Manager, highlight the CL from your instrument list and click the arrow pointing to the right.

Search the CL, highlight it and click Edit.

Uncheck Nymex and check Globex.

Search the CL again.

Set the expiry date to 04-08 and the exchange should be set to Globex.

Add the modified CL to your instrument list.

Check if you receive data. If not, please contact your broker and check if you are authorized to receive data.

I just tested the CL 04-08 with these settings on my end and was able to receive data.

Can't get ES prices (Trading Technologies / Alaron)

Hello NinjaTraders Jason and Jessica,

I have essentially the same problem as KevCam but instead of wanting CL I would like to chart ES 12-08 (the E-mini S&P500).

What is the code that goes into the Trading Technologies field?

(I noticed that to chart ZB 12-08 it needs ZB||CBOT )

What is the exchange for ES ? CME or Globex? And should I use one
vertical line or two vertical lines?

I presume there is a symbol list to find these things out somewhere? Where please? I looked at the Trading Technologies website but they
seem to be oriented towards brokers not end-users like me.
